PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mark detecting device for a workpiece, a mark detecting method, and a storage medium for executing this method capable of favorably judging whether or not a picture image on a workpiece picked-up by a camera is a mark even when the picture image is partially outside a pickup range of the camera. SOLUTION: The picture image on the workpiece is picked-up (S31), and an X direction size and a Y direction size of an object are calculated (S33). If the sizes are sufficient for calculating an area (S35: YES), an actual area Sa of the object is measured (S41). A center position of the object is calculated (S43), and if the object is a mark, an area S of the picture image arranged within the pickup range is calculated on the basis of this center position (S45). Only if a difference of the areas Sa and S is within a predetermined range (S47: YES), it is determined that a possibility than the object is a mark is high for moving on to a detailed shape recognition process (S49). |
