PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen gas separation unit excellent in heat resistance and mechanical strength, capable of separating high purity hydrogen gas and excellent in hydrogen gas separation capacity even at a high temperature. SOLUTION: A metal support 11 and a material (palladium alloy foil) 13 having hydrogen gas separation properties are subjected to cladding processing to be laminated each other and, thereafter, the portion of the metal support of a clad cut plate K is selectively etched using an etching liquid to expose the material 13 having gas separation properties to obtain the hydrogen gas separation unit A.
