<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a masking material capable of easily and safely controlling the sticking or grinding area of a complicated three dimensional curved surface or fine parts in coating or sandblast. SOLUTION: The masking material is made of a silicone bouncing putty easily daformable with fingers and having self shape retaining property. The silicone bouncing putty 1 is formed into a plate form, adjusted to suit the end part to a masking line 2 of a material 3 to be worked and lightly pressed and fixed. The masking material is used thin in coating and thick in sand blast. Even a complicated surface is easily set as the coating surface 3a or grinding surface 3b. The putty is cleanly stripped after the work and recycled. The masking material can be used by softening or liquefying with a volatile non- polar solvent.</p> |
