PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the quality of a print in an image recorder for printing even in accelerating and decelerating intervals of a carriage. SOLUTION: A head is driven by a waveform 1 in an interval A between a P1 in which the speed of the carriage becomes an SPD1 and a P2 in which the speed becomes an SPD2. The head is driven by a waveform 2 in an interval B between the P2 and a P3 in which the speed of the carriage becomes an SPD3. The head is driven by a waveform 3 in an interval C in which the speed of the carriage is a constant speed. The head is driven by the waveform 2 in an interval D between a P4 and a P5 in which the speed of the carriage becomes the SPD2. The head is driven by the waveform 1 in an interval E between a position of the P5 and a P6 in which the speed of the carriage becomes the SPD1.
