PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a very high-speed CT scanner with drastically reduced scanning time and a cathode scanning type X-ray generator for realizing this objective. SOLUTION: The very high-speed CT scanner and the cathode scanning type X-ray generator for realizing this scanner have a cathode-side rotator assembly AR, an electron gun assembly EG, a cathode for emitting electrons and an annular cathode power supply mechanism SL1 in a doughnut-shaped vacuum vessel VV, and makes a cathode orbit around an examined object while feeding power to the cathode to make an accelerated electronic beam incident on the surface of an annular X-ray target TG to generate X-rays orbiting at high speed. The cathode-side rotator assembly is freely rotatably supported by a bearing mechanism CBG consisting of a hydrodynamic slide bearing lubricated by a liquid metal lubricant. At the hydrodynamic slide bearing, a liquid metallic lubricant absorbing mechanism is provided between the opening part of the bearing and a vacuum space.
