PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for raising of seedling of buckwheat, rapidly growing buckwheat, having an excellent production efficiency, suitable for mass production. SOLUTION: Buckwheat seeds 13 are immersed in water held in a bucket, etc., for 24 hours. The seeds 13 are taken out from the bucket, etc., and allowed to stand in a dehydrated state at a dark place at a normal temperature. The seeds start to germinate in a few days. The germinated seeds are sowed in a wet nonwoven fabric A9 housed in a seedling raising container A7 or a nonwoven fabric B12 in a seedling raising container B12 housed in the seedling raising container 7A. The seedling raising container A7 is fed to a germination device. The seeds are rooted in the nonwoven fabric A9 or in the nonwoven fabric B12 after the lapse of about two days. After the rooting, the seedling raising container A7 is taken out from the germination device. In the state of the seedling raising container A7 arranged side by side to a culture box 1 in a vinyl house, water is supplied to the culture box 1, the rooted seeds are immersed in water for a short time and water is drained. When the water supply and drain are repeated for 7-10 days three to five times per day, the seedling can soundly grow by oxygen in the air and water wetted in the nonwoven fabric.
