PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a root vegetable harvester for feeding root vegetables to a cutter with a cutting and carrying device and then dropping the cut waste leaves, which can drop the waste leaves without hooking the waste leaves on the carrying device. SOLUTION: A waste leaf-carrying device 30 is disposed above a cutting and carrying device 25. The waste leaf-carrying device 30 carries the waste leaves carried with the cutting and carrying device 25 at a higher carrying speed than the carrying speed of the cutting and carrying device 25 and then drops the waste leaves at a higher position level on the leaf apex side than the cutting and carrying device 25.
