PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biaxially oriented polyester film excellent in heat resistance, transparency and mechanical physical properties and absorbing ultraviolet rays. SOLUTION: The biaxially oriented polyester film contains 0.01-10 weight % of an ultraviolet absorber represented by formula 1 (wherein, R is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkyl group substituted with a halogen atom or an alkoxy group or a benzyl group; and R' is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group) and having a 10% weight reducing temperature of 300 deg.C or higher and the light transmissivity at a wavelength of 360 nm thereof is 30% or less and the thickness thereof is 10-200μm.
