PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for inspecting and excluding a filter-tipped cigarette capable of carrying out an inspection for defective appearance of the filter-tipped cigarette in a production process therefor and excluding defectives to the outside of a production line. SOLUTION: This device for inspecting and excluding the filter-tipped cigarette is capable of separating a double filter-tipped cigarette W into a pair of filter-tipped cigarettes, then transporting the resultant filter-tipped cigarettes in one row with a drum train connected from a turning drum 12, locating a measuring position for passing all the filter-tipped cigarettes therethrough on an intermediate drum 16, measuring the passage width of the filter site with a photoelectric switch 26 at the measuring position, judging a product as a rolling defective of a tip paper piece, the so-called flag rolled product (the tip paper piece peeled from the outer periphery of a filter plug and projected in the form of a flag) when the measured passage width is larger than a specified size by some extent therein, opening a solenoid valve 25 in a timing of arrival of the filter-tipped cigarette at an excluding position on a transporting drum 22 and thereby excluding the defectives from the transporting drum 22 by jetting pressurized air.
