METHOD FOR IMPROVING TONE REPRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving tone reproduction in a digital printing system. SOLUTION: First, an image to be printed is defined. The image has a minimal ink density area (16), and an intermediate density area (14) to a high ink density (12). In order to disperse ink droplets in the minimal ink density area of the image, a randomized dot placement scheme is used. An ordered structure scheme is used for dispersing ink droplets in the medium ink density area to the high ink density of the image.
