PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller type coating method and the device capable of uniformly applying a coating material by following in the unevenness of a surface. SOLUTION: The roller type coating method is performed by dropping the coating material on a coating metallic roller from a nozzle freely reciprocally movable in a direction crossing the transferring direction of an intermittently transferred plate like article at a right angle, impregnating a coating felt roller arranged direct thereunder with the coating material, formed film like on the coating metallic roller and flowing down, and pressing the coating felt roller on the uneven surface of the plate like material and its device is provided.
