PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder in which recording operation can be sustained stably without causing voltage drop over the entire recorder even if a continuous recording region, where the load on a recording head increases up to a significant level, is present when an image is recorded line by line. SOLUTION: The image recorder records an image while varying the load on a thermal recording head line by line for a thermal sheet wherein a CPU 10 drives the thermal recording head, before recording an image line by line and after decimating the content of red line data imposing a load of a reference level or above to the thermal recording head, based on the decimated red line data.
