PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting device capable of cutting a part or all layers of a laminate member using a simple configuration and of certainly cutting only one layer of the laminate member. SOLUTION: The cutting device 10 is composed of a first and a second cutting mechanisms 11, 12 and a single cutter motor 13 and driving mechanism 14 for driving the cutting mechanisms. When the cutter motor 13 is rotated in the regular direction, the torque is transmitted to a cam 53 through the driving mechanism 14, and a moving blade 22 for full-cut moves toward a stationary blade 21 to cause all the laminate tape 6 to be cut. When the cutter motor 13 is rotated reversely, a moving blade 32 for half cut abuts to a receptacle table 31 through the action of the cam 53 under the drive of the motor 13 while a certain gap is reserved in between to cause a printing tape 6a to solely be cut. At this time, the cutter motor 13 is controlled so that abutting of the moving blade 32 to the receptacle table 31 is made for a specified period of time, which ensures a certain operation of cutting.
