PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode scanning type X-ray generator for a very high- speed X-ray CT scanner, which is small and reliable, and the very high-speed X-ray CT scanner using the X-ray generator. SOLUTION: The cathode scanning type X-ray generator for a very high-speed scanning type X-ray CT scanner and the X-ray CT scanner using this are provided with a doughnut-shaped vacuum vessel, a cathode-side rotator assembly, at least one electronic gun assembly, a cathode for discharging thermoelectron, and an annular cathode power supply mechanism, and makes an accelerated electronic beam incident on the surface of an annular X-ray target to generate X-rays orbiting at high speed. The cathode-side rotator assembly CR or the rotation part of the cathode power supply mechanism SL1 is freely rotatably supported by a bearing mechanism ABG consisting of a hydrodynamic slide bearing lubricated by metal liquid lubricant and a rotation part inside of the vacuum vessel VV is connected with the outside of the vacuum vessel both thermally and electrically through the metal liquid lubricant to be kept at a low temperature and a constant potential. It is possible to start rotation smoothly with small rotation torque.
