PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embroidery data generating device for generating an embroidery pattern having a good-appearance overlapped portion even by the expansion/shrinkage of embroidery data by adjusting the lap quantity of the overlapped portion of partial embroidery regions when the embroidery data are expanded or shrunk. SOLUTION: For expansion, the coordinates of the sewing number NAn are converted into the intersection coordinates K(NAn) between a sewing line connecting the sewing numbers NAn and M(=NAn-1) and an upper limit line 104 for a deletion adjustment when the needle location point of the sewing number NAn and the needle location point of the adjacent sewing number M on the outline of an excess overlapped portion 105A are located on the opposite sides across the upper limit line 104. For shrinkage, the intersection coordinates K(NB1) between the sewing line to the sewing number NBn and a conversion outline 106B are converted from the sewing number M adjacent to the sewing number NBn of the needle location point on a contact outline 107B between a lacking overlapped portion 105B and a partial embroidery region BB into sewing number NBn for an addition adjustment.
