PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for uniformly and clearly transferring an imaging layer wherein an intermediate transferring film or an ink ribbon can be set to an adequate position irrespective of skill of an operator even when a path for the intermediate transferring film or the like is long and complicated, a portion in the vicinity of the setting path is hardly contaminated and defective printing or defective transferring does not occur. SOLUTION: There is disclosed the apparatus and the method wherein a transferring medium having the imaging layer which can be peeled from a basic material and has an image written in a part thereof is supplied in such a manner that the side having the image is brought into contact with a body to be transferred and is heated to be pressed, thereby transferring the image to a predetermined transferring region of the body to be transferred. A consumable component for the imaging such as the transferring medium or the ink ribbon is housed in a cassette structure body and can be used as it is.
