PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic probe which can manufacture two-dimensional array vibrators at a good manufacturing yield and can efficiently receive echoes of wavelengths different from the wavelengths of transmitted ultrasonic waves. SOLUTION: An element 11a for transmission using a relaxor titanium-base single crystal material as a piezoelectric body is connected to a drive circuit 11 and an element for reception using a PZT-base ceramic material as the piezoelectric body is connected to a detector 14. The element 11b for reception using the PZT-base ceramic material is higher in resonance frequency than the element 11a for transmission using the relaxor titanium-base single crystal and therefore the second harmonics of the echoes of the element for transmission may be received with good sensitivity.
