PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate the degree of activity of muscles, which reflects the activity of a metabolic system. SOLUTION: An electric stimulation signal from a stimulating device 110 is impressed on a surface electrode 122 via an isolator as an electric stimulation by the control of a computer. Oxygen consumption is measured by a signal from a sensor 132 by a device 130, etc., which uses near infrared lights. An evoked electromyogram (M wave) is measured by electrodes 162, 164 and 166 and an evoked electromyogram differential amplifier 160. An activity by the electric stimulation is obtained by recording the signal from a torque sensor 140 by a data recorder 150. Each measurement result is also inputted to the computer. The measurement results from the measurement systems are evaluated to obtain the degree-of-activity evaluation of the muscles.
