PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for catalytically trapping and decomposing car exhaust gas, using a catalyst, which is different from a catalyst studied or proposed heretofore for reducing and removing NOx (nitrogen oxide) and oxidizes, decomposes and removes NOx, to remove NOx in car exhaust gas and capable of keeping the cleaning capacity thereof for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The apparatus for catalytically trapping and decomposing car exhaust gas is provided with a suction port and a discharge port and attached to a muffler of a car. Heneycomb-like metal plates each having a titanium oxide active layer formed thereon are arranged in a box, which is formed by punching a metal plate so as to permit car exhaust gas to pass, in an overlapped state so that the car exhaust gas comes into contact with the honeycomb- like metal plates when passes through the box to manufacture a catalyst device constituted so that NOx (nitrogen oxide) catalytically trapped in the car exhaust gas is decomposed and removed by the photocatalytic function of the titanium oxide active layer. |
