PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode scanning type X-ray generator for a very high- speed X-ray CT scanner, which is small and reliable, and the very high-speed X-ray CT scanner. SOLUTION: The cathode scanning type X-ray generator for a very high-speed scanning type X-ray CT scanner and the X-ray CT scanner using the above are provided with a doughnut-shaped vacuum vessel, a cathode-side rotator assembly AR, at least one electronic gun assembly EG, a cathode for discharging thermoelectron, and an annular cathode power supply mechanism SL1. Then, while supplying the power to the cathode through this cathode feeding mechanism, the generator and the scanner make this cathode orbit around an examinee body to make an electronic beam incident on the surface of an X-ray target TG to generate X-rays orbiting at high speed. The first heat absorption electrode or the second heat absorption electrode provided coaxially with the X-ray target so as to cover the surface of the X-ray target absorbs secondary electrons and radiant heat coming out from the X-ray target to prevent the temperature increase of surrounding parts.
