PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machining method and machining device for a workpiece capable of machining the workpiece with cross sectional shapes different in accordance with axial positions by four-axis control. SOLUTION: The workpiece W is held rotatably around a C-axis in a spindle stock 10. A position of a machining means 70 machining the workpiece W is controlled by control data such as a reciprocating amount in an X-axis direction perpendicular to the C-axis, a turning angle around a B-axis perpendicular to the C-axis, and a turning angle around an A-axis perpendicular to the C-axis and the B-axis. These control data are obtained by marking vectors from a center of the workpiece to a center of the machining means as seen from a machining state and a machine configuration and solving an equation from these vectors.
