PURPOSE: An LCD device is provided to take out a terminal of an image signal line on one side only of an LCD panel, and to dispose a circuit substrate for driving the image signal line in connection with the terminal on the one side only of the LCD panel, thereby reducing size and realizing miniaturization. CONSTITUTION: Each pixel is disposed within crossed areas between two adjacent scanning signal lines(GL) and two image signal lines(DL). Each pixel consists of a thin film transistor(TFT), a transparent pixel electrode(ITO1), and a maintenance capacity element(Cadd). The scanning signal lines(GL) are extended in column direction, and are disposed in row direction in plural. The image signal lines(DL) are extended in row direction, and are disposed in column direction in plural. The thin film transistor(TFT) and the transparent pixel electrode(ITO1) are formed on a lower transparent glass substrate. Color filters(FIL) and a black matrix(BM) are formed on an upper transparent glass substrate.
