The method involves determining the initial value of the calcium-ion concentration of the uterine epithelium and storing the obtained results. The uterine epithelium is stimulated mechanically and/or chemically. The resultant change in the calcium-ion concentration is then determined and the obtained results are evaluated taking into account the initial value. An independent claim is included for a diagnostic apparatus.
