A first sequence state storage module ( 20 ) periodically stores a present state ( 22 ) of a long code generator ( 30 ). Following a restoration of power after a power cut condition, or following the termination of any other interruption of the generation of the long code, a sequence recovery module ( 50 ) then provides an updated present state ( 36 ). The updated present state ( 36 ) is based upon a stored present state ( 24 ) and a time value ( 52 ) that is reset whenever the present state ( 22 ) of the long code or other sequence is stored and that is available even when the long code or other sequence is interrupted. |
