PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent power consumption of a communication terminal from increasing, without deteriorating a frequency utilizing efficiency in the case of using a broadband paging channel which is equivalent to a large capacity traffic channel in multi-carrier communication. SOLUTION: The frequency utilizing efficiency is improved by assigning only a small number of subcarriers to a paging channel, while a large number of subcarriers are assigned to a traffic channel. Furthermore, users are grouped and the paging channel of each group is assigned to each subcarrier to reduce a reception band and relieve the processing imposed on the reception, thereby reducing the power consumption for battery saving.
