This invention relates to a safety device that disconnects power to electric al equipment if an undesirable current pathway is detected. The net current carried by a multiplicity of wires is sensed. If this current exceeds a preset threshold, power is removed from electrical equipment powered by the wires. The invention may also contain additional circuit protection devices, such as fuses, circuit breakers, and spike protection equipment to protect against a variety of fault conditions.
