PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auxiliary power unit fit for an electric automobile. SOLUTION: This unit is equipped with a main battery 1 which supplies a drive motor 8 with power, an auxiliary battery 2 which supplies a starter motor 3 with power, a self-charging auxiliary unit 10 which has the starter 3 and the auxiliary battery 2, and a switch 6 which selectively connects the main battery 1 to the self charging auxiliary unit 10, and this supplies the starter motor 3 with power of the main battery 1 in case that the charged condition of the auxiliary accumulator 2 is insufficient for the auxiliary machine.
