PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a life calculation method for estimating the rest of ball screw life. SOLUTION: Values detected by load sensors provided on a movable part and a stationary part of a ball screw are sampled during the ball screw is operating (step S12). Continuously, an average load Fm during an operation time is calculated by using the sampled values (step S13). Moreover, a rest of the ball screw life is calculated by using the calculated average load Fm (step S14).
