METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MINIMIZING THERMAL STRESS IN CENTER BODY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for minimizing a thermal stress in a center body. SOLUTION: A center body of gas turbine engine is provided with a thermal control device for minimizing a thermal stress between the center body and a plurality of stiffeners. The center body stiffener extends radially toward an inside from a center body shell. A cavity is defined in each center body stiffener. The thermal control device is provided with a plurality of openings arranged in a circumferential direction on a periphery of the center body. Each opening penetrates the center body shell to communicate with each cavity. The openings include inlet openings and outlet openings enabling to produce a flow in a circumferential direction in the center body cavity portions.
