PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease component parts in a mechanism for preventing the clattering of a pickup in a moving direction. SOLUTION: The disk recording or reproducing device has a turntable 3 which rotates a disk 7, the pickup 2 which is freely movably disposed attachably and detachably at the turntable 3 and has a rack piece 40 in one side part and a drive mechanism which has a gear 20 for moving the pickup 2 on a chasis 1. The rack piece 40 is pressed and energized to the gear 20 by deflecting in a direction approximately orthogonal with the moving direction of the pickup 2 within the plane parallel to the top surface of the chassis 1.
