PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device capable of lowering the gain of a focus servo system without reducing the stability for the purpose of eliminating the noise generated at the time of seek control. SOLUTION: In this optical disk device, the optical disk 11 is recorded and/or reproduced by performing the seek control for moving an optical pickup 15 to an objective track on the optical disk 11 and the focus servo of the optical pickup 15 according to a detected focus error signal and a 1st transfer function. The device is constituted so that a means 17a for holding a 2nd transfer function different from the 1st transfer function is furnished then the focus servo according to the 1st transfer function is performed when the seek control is not carried out, and the focus servo according to the 2nd transfer function is performed when the seek servo is carried out.
