PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compression transmission type high load transmission belt operative in an oil free state with endless carriers, formed of metal bands and having little degradation of wear resistance over a long period of time. SOLUTION: In this high load transmission belt 1, formed by engaging a large number of blocks 3 slidably in a mutually abutting manner in the longitudinal direction of endless carriers 2a, 2b, the endless carriers 2a, 2b at formed of a metal and a nickel coating containing a low friction material is formed on the surface of the metal.
