PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evade an overshoot, etc. SOLUTION: A mixed signal CODEC comprising an improved sigma-delta ADC (20) is publicly opened, it suppresses an input signal to a switched capacitor structure and a circuit overhead is not added to a signal route. This evades the problem of the overshoot and a settling. The sigma-delta analog-digital converter (20) is provided with the input signal and an output signal and comprises a switch (sw1), a clip circuit (21) and the previously known sigma-delta ADC (34). The problem of a signal clipping is solved by suppressing the signal by the input of the sigma-delta ADC (34). The clip circuit (21) connects the switch (sw1) to the sigma-delta ADC (34) in order to switch a voltage which is supplied to the sigma-delta ADC between the input signal (vin) and at least one threshold voltage (Vn and Vp).
