PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a power converter, satisfying a user's demand after the user designates a function and physical conditions (e.g. rated input/output voltages, a power level) and a selective reference (e.g. efficiency, reliability, cost), and is optimized for the designated selective reference. SOLUTION: A system is used to discriminate a power converter constitution for optimizing the converter constitution, based on an optimizing reference in coincidence with operating characteristics. A method for discriminating the converter constitution comprises a step of receiving functional operation characteristics, regarding the converter in a first party and optimized information from a second party, and a step of accessing to a power converter generator for discriminating the converter constitution for satisfying functional operating characteristic information, and discriminating and storing information regarding the respective constitutions for the optimizing reference in a computer. The method also comprises a step of selecting one of the converter constitutions for optimizing the converter constitutions, based on the optimizing reference in a computer, a step of providing specifications of the selected constitution to the second party, a step of receiving an approval in the first party, and a step of sending manufacturing information of the selected constitution to a manufacturing facility.
