IMAGE REPRODUCER AND IMAGE PICKUP DISPLAY DEVICE USING THE REPRODUCER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To settle a problem of deteriorating the resolution when low resolution is designated by an image reproducer that can output images of plural levels of resolution and accordingly the quality of displayed images are extremely deteriorated. SOLUTION: When resolution lower than the highest display resolution (SXGA) in this case is designated, the frequency of a read clock is set so that the image signals equivalent to the number of pixels (1280 pixels) corresponding to high resolution are outputted in a horizontal synchronous period that is necessary for displaying the designated resolution (XGA). As a result, the information is included in the output image signals like a case of high resolution and the display is attained in response to capability of a monitor M1 of the display side. Then the quality is improved for the images which are generally displayed.
