PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel structure connecting beam members without welding them. SOLUTION: A long square steel pipe 11 having a predetermined thickness t and a short square steel pipe 12 having a large thickness T and a length L and forming a beam member connection part have outer peripheral shapes formed into the same shape, and the short square steel pipe 12 is welded and connected in the direction of length using it as a beam member connection position. Holes 13A, 13B, 13C for connecting beam members are formed on at least one side plate 12A of the short square steel pipe 12 to constitute a square steel pipe column 10. A beam member 16 is connected with the short square steel pipe 10 by connecting a bracket 17 for connecting a lower part connected with a lower face of the beam member 16, a bracket 18 for connecting a side part connected with a side face of the beam member 16, and a bracket 19 for connecting an upper part connected with an upper face of the beam member 16 with the short square steel pipe 12 by a connection device 21 utilizing the holes 13A, 13B, 13C.
