PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for detecting the number of uncompleted printing pages even in a printer without a page counting mechanism. SOLUTION: This print job managing device for controlling the operation of the printer having a print data buffering part temporarily storing the print data of a printing job, is provided with a printing job storing part storing the print data of the printing job and the page management information of the printing job, a printing job transmitting part transmitting the print data in the printing job storing part to the printer, a printing job controlling part controlling the transmission of the print data in the printing job transmitting part and also managing a printing job transmission pointer showing the transmitted data position of the printing job during transmitting, an intra-printer buffer capacity detecting part detecting intra-buffer print data quantity stored in the print data buffering part, and a printing job page managing part calculating the uncompleted printing page by calculating an unprinted data start position representing print data whose printing has not completed from the intra-buffer print data quantity and the printing job transmission pointer and further referring to the page management information.
