PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a high resolution image without crosstalk using the technique displaying by shifting a pixel. SOLUTION: In an optical switching element 10 using evanescent light, a half surface of an extraction surface 3a turns light-on. Therefore, the high resolution image can be displayed, without performing crosstalk by shifting light emitted from a display device using the optical switching element 10 by the half-pitch of an element by a suitable means.
