PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that time and labor are required to block an opening part formed at a place where an upper step part at a difference in steps on a floor slab in a toilet room is removed and much cost and time are required for remodeling work because the upper step part must be removed when the flush toilet room using a Japanese style stool is remodeled into a flush toilet room using a Western style stool. SOLUTION: In the remodeling work for replacing the Japanese style stool in the flush toilet room with the Western style stool, a backing plate is applied to a recessed part formed on a rear surface side of the upper step part from its lower side to block it, and then the upper step part on the floor slab is removed by chipping work. A plurality of angle members 17 having an overhanging piece 16 are fixed on a peripheral fringe of the opening part at the place where the upper step part is removed and a wall face of a wall body 9, and concrete 18 is placed in the opening part at the place where the floor slab is removed. Then, a unit toilet pan 22 is provided by putting its leg bolt 23 at a predetermined position on the overhanging piece 16 and a top face of the floor slab, and concrete is spread on a face 19 on which concrete is placed to put and fix the Western style stool on the unit toilet pan.
