PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart a bar code much more information or character information by combining bars. SOLUTION: Plural bars 1a-1p of a bar code 1 are gradated on plural stages, further, the thickness of the bars 1a-1p is divided into plural stages so that an information quantity, that one of bars 1a-1p has, is made into plural kinds and since the bars 1a-1p are divided into plural bar groups, the bar groups have the gradations of plural stages and the bars 1a-1p in each of bar groups have the thickness of plural stages, a CCD part 11 and a CPU 21 divide a density into plural stages, discriminate the thickness of the bars 1a-1p and convert bar information read from this information to a character. |
