PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical cell holder which holds a flat cell such as a button cell or a coin cell in vertical state with certainty and setting it stably on the surface of a printed circuit board. SOLUTION: This vertical cell holder has a structure where terminals are arranged in a holder body housing and holding a flat cell detachably in vertical state, and connects the cell to an external circuit electrically. The holder body has a housing section equipped with a hole fitting the external shape of the flat cell and a supporting plate that closes the hole from one side of the front or back of the housing section, a contact part of one terminal is arranged in the supporting plate, in the open side of the hole a contact part of the other electrode terminal is arranged at a position pressing the open face of the flat cell which is housed opposing the contact part, and the connection part of each terminal is bent in a direction perpendicular to the length direction on the bottom face from both side of the front and back of the holder body, thereby forming a supporting leg.
