PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To forward data in a page mode without lowering throughput. SOLUTION: In a data recorder with an interface IEEE 1394, a page table which is used in forwarding data in the page mode is stored in a page table buffer 12. A CPU 5 receives from the page table buffer 12 the return addresses and data which corresponds to a page of data by the page one after another and sets them in a buffer 2 in a LINK chip 2. Thereby, the data can be forwarded in the page mode without suspending.
