PURPOSE: Surface treatment method and composition giving self-lubricating property to a cold rolled steel sheet are provided to manufacture a lubricating steel sheet without surface defects of cracks or scratches even during deep drawing by coating a lubricating resin solution prepared using different structured resin on the steel sheet. CONSTITUTION: The surface treatment method giving self-lubricating property to a cold rolled steel sheet comprises the steps of preparing a solvent type resin solution a solid content of which is 10 to 40 wt.% by preparing thermosetting epoxy-ester graft acrylate resin; adding to the prepared resin solution 5 to 20 weight parts of a lubricating agent of modified polyethylene based wax, PTFE resin or a mixture thereof based on the resin solid content of 100 weight parts, 10 to 50 weight parts of silicate or colloidal shaped silica emulsion dispersed for improving corrosion resistance based on the resin solid content of 100 weight parts, and 4 to 25 weight parts of a curing agent selected from the group consisting of amino resin based, block isocyan based and urea resin based curing agents based on the resin solid content of 100 weight parts; and adding to the prepared resin solution 0.05 to 2 wt.% of a silane coupling agent selected from the group consisting of γ-glycidoxy propyl trimethoxy silane, γ-glycidoxy propyl methyldimethoxy silane and γ-metacryloxy propyl trimethoxy silane based on a solid content in the total solution so as to improve coatability of the prepared resin solution.
