The image screen is formed of a matrix with at least one line of cells (81,82...8m) each with an active pixel receiver. Each cell has a photosensor (16) and a reading circuit for the receiver. Each reading circuit has a number (N) of branches connected in parallel to an output stage. Each branch has a capacitor (28) for accumulation of charge and a switch (26) for connection with the photosensor and the output. A decoder provides a successive sequence of pattern impulses at time intervals corresponding to a light source.
