SOLUTION: As for the image forming apparatus with an image forming means by an electrophotographic process and to which a plurality of applications such as a FAX application for presenting the FAX function, and a copying application for presenting a copying function, etc., the image forming apparatus is provided with a toner concentration detecting means for detecting the toner concentration in a developing unit for the image forming means, an abnormality detecting means for detecting the abnormality of the toner concentration detecting means, a deciding means for deciding the kind of the application connected to the apparatus, and a stoppage control means for controlling the stoppage of the apparatus based on the decision result by the deciding means when the abnormality is detected by the abnormality detecting means. |
