PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective film equipped with excellent properties and a polarizing plate using the same. SOLUTION: The protective film for the polarizing plate is composed of a practically nonaligned film formed of a specific cyclic olefin polymer with 5-50 g/m2.24 hr moisture vapor permeation rate and >=90.0% light transmittance and has excellent properties such as transparency, heat resistance, absence of aligning, surface hardness, adhesiveness to a polarizing element or the like. The polarizing plate using the same has excellent initial performance and excellent durability such as moisture and heat resistance or the like. |
