PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed lead storage battery which is free of maintenance, inexpensive, and is excellent in high discharge characteristic and cycle life characteristic. SOLUTION: A lead alloy collector 1 is fit into a porous resin framework 2 made of foamed polypropylene of 80% porosity, and subsequently the framework 2 is filed with a paste-like active material, aged, and dried. Then, both sides of the dried plate of the framework 2 are overlaid with the active-material cover 3 made of glass-fiber textile impregnated with phenol resin. The porous resin framework 2 and the active-material cover 3 are joined by adhesion to provide a positive electrode plate, by use of which a sealed lead storage battery is made.
