PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems where a very high partial potential resistance is required, because the output voltage of a piezoelectric transformer is divided for feedback in conducting overvoltage protection for the piezoelectric transformer, and where there is the possibility of element destruction due to malfunction, and circuit downsizing is difficult due to high voltage. SOLUTION: This transformer consists of a piezoelectric element 109 of which the main component is a piezoelectric material, primary electrodes 101U, 101D for applying voltage, a secondary electrode 102 which is formed on the piezoelectric element 109 and outputs higher voltage than applied voltage to the primary electrode, and a sensor electrode 103 which is formed on the piezoelectric element 109 and outputs lower voltage than the output voltage of the secondary electrode.
