PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the detection probability while decreasing the possibility of switching to a control different from setting even in a case detection of an object to be detected is difficult in a control method for an air conditioner. SOLUTION: In a control method for an air conditioner having a function of detecting an object to be detected in a room, a control section 13 of an indoor machine controller 14, when the object is detected by an object detection sensor section 9 and it judges on the basis of the detection result that no object is detected, detects the object during timer time of a timer section 11. When no object is detected till the time-up, provided room temperature by a room temperature detection section 10 lies within a previously set temperature range, the time until the operation changed over to operation different from setting for the air conditioner is set to a counter section 12 as a predetermined time, or provided the room temperature by the room temperature detection section 10 is out of the previously set temperature range, the time until the operation is switched to a different operation from the foregoing setting is set to the counter section 12 as being a smaller value than the aforementioned predetermined value. Further, provided the object is detected within the set time, the control of switching the present operation to an operation different from the foregoing setting is released. |
