PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect key operations quickly without heavy CPU load. SOLUTION: In a scanning method of keyboard of which controlling means output scanning signals at specified time intervals and monitor the status of on and off of the keys, the controlling means have switching function of scanning signals which selectively outputs at least two kinds of scanning signals, the first scanning signal at tl time intervals and the second scanning signal at t2 time internals, and output the first scanning signal and perform keys scanning at a high speed when all the keys are off at t3 time intervals, and output the second scanning signal and switch to the key scanning at a low speed when either key is on.
